Sunderland-based charity awarded the Investors in People Gold Standard
Sunderland-based charity ETEC Development Trust (originally East Training Education and Community) has been awarded the new Investors in People Gold Standard after a series of intensive assesments and interviews with staff and managers of the organisation by assessors who recognised ECET's commitment to staff training and development.
The standard Investors in People award is given to organisations that can meet the 39 evidence requirements that demonstrate the 10 indicators of investing in people such as learning and development, performance measurement and continuous improvement. ETEC was one of the first organisations in Sunderland to be awarded Investor in People status bak in 1994.
The Bronze, Silver and Gold Standards were introduced in 2009 and, including the initital 39 standard requirements, being awarded the Gold Standard means ETEC was able to demonstrate a further 165 or more evidence requirements.
The Gold Standard award recognises ETEC's achievement of world class best practice in people management, with Sunderland-assessors Investors in People North East highlighting ETEC's key strengths in areas such as staff commitment to equality and diversity, having a strong culture of learning and development and open, honest and supportive leadership and management.
