Social enterprises growing faster than other UK companies
New statistics show that social enterprises in Britain are growing at double the rate of other fast-growing British companies. The statistics were compiled according to the RBS SE100 Index, and show that the top 40 UK social enterprises have an average annual turnover growth of 78%, double its turnover growth last month and double the growth of the fastest growing non-social enterprises, whose turnover rests at only 38.9% according to Business XL Rising Stars index.
Social enterprises that enter the index can win up to £50,000 worth of prizes and feature in the Social Enterprise annual report on the sector's top 100 companies, and every month the top five performers in terms of growth and the top five leaders in impact reporting are featured in Social Enterprise magazine.
