The Social Enterprise Coalition released its 2010 Manifesto yesterday. The manifesto, produced with consultation from the social enterprise community, details how certain changes to key policies could help maximise the impact of social enterprises in the UK.

The Manifesto calls for social enterprises to increase their contribution to the economy threefold by 2020 and highlights six priority areas key to increasing contribution. These are:

The Manifesto is part of SEC's wider 2010 Election Campaign that aims to encourage current and prospective MP's to pledge their support to social enterprise and sign up to SEC's 2010 Social Enterprise Charter.

SEC are also encouraging social enterprises to be active in this campaign. A Campaign Pack is available to download which provides template letters to send to local MP's and local media. The pack also includes tips for working with local MP's and getting media coverage.
