SEC announce creation of Social Enterprise Business Support Programme
Social enterprises, like any other business, need the right kind of business support. Yet mainstream business support may not meet the needs specific to social enterprise. To address this, SEC (Social Enterprise Coalition) have developed the Social Enterprise Business Support Programme.
The Programme merges the work managed by SEC in two existing business support projects - the Capacitybuilders funded National Knowledge Management Programme and the Investing in Social Enterprise Expansion (I-SEE) Programme, funded by the Big Lottery (BASIS). The two existing projects will still continue individually but due to the potential for shared learning across the two projects, SEC will now refer to them collectively as the Social Enterprise Business Support Programme and will actively encourage the sharing of information between the two.
The overall aim of the Programme is to work in partnership with fellow social enterprise support bodies to create effective sector products, services and knowledge-sharing networks in order to stimulate the growth of social enterprise in Britain, working to improve the qaulity of, and access to, business support for social enterprise.
Visit the SEC website to find out more about the Social Enterprise Business Support Programme.
Social enterprises can also receive ongoing information on the programme by signing up to the Social Enterprise Business Support Programme newsletter.
