Rural towns and villages to benefit from new Community Shops Network

The Community Shops Network, an initiative devised by social enterprise and charity The Plunkett Foundation is aimed at helping rural communities set up and run their own shops and post offices.

Launched in March, the Community Shops Network exists as an arena for those involved in the community shop sector to share ideas and best practice and access resources such as advice on financial, legal, retailing and post office issues.

Communities and individuals involved in the community shop sector, or those interested in finding out more can register at the Community Shops Network website and contribute ideas and experiences in forums, view a directroy of community owned shops and read success stories from across the UK.
