Pledge your support to save Britain’s forests

As part of budget cuts, the government has announced plans for a huge sell-off of Britain’s national forests to private firms – meaning national treasures such as Sherwood Forest, and local treasures such as Kielder Forest and Hamsterley Forest, are under threat.

The government however would need to push new laws through Parliament to commence these plans. Social action campaigners 38 Degrees have created a petition aimed at stopping the government’s plans.

Sign the ‘Save our Forests’ petition.

As the government needs the support of MP’s to vote the changes through Parliament, 38 Degrees is encouraging people to target their local MP’s to gain their support for the ‘Save our Forests’ campaign.

Visit the 38 Degrees website to send a message to your local MP urging them vote against sell-off plans.
