North East makes the change with publication of Social Enterprise Framework
Making the Change, the North East’s first Social Enterprise Framework has been published. Aimed at Social Enterprise providers, public sector partners and wider stakeholders inside and outside the third sector, Making the Change sees the North East leading the way in growing its Social Enterprise sector.
The Framework has been produced by a partnership of Social Enterprise representative and provider organisations, including VONNE and NESEP. Developed through a public consultation with the sector in February and March this year, Making the Change outlines seven key priorities to help the Social Enterprise sector in the North East to develop and grow. Illustrated with regional case studies of Social Enterprises and wider Third Sector organisations help to make change happen, the Framework is relevant to Social Enterprises and wider Third Sector organisations of all sizes and scales as well as supporting stakeholders in the North East.
Roy Stanley, Chair of Business & Enterprise North East said: “In my role I have made it my mission to work with others to create a thriving and diverse Social Enterprise sector in the North East.
“I am delighted the see the publication of Making the Change, the North East’s first Social Enterprise Framework. This Framework will enable Social Enterprises and entrepreneurs, wider Third Sector organisations and supporting stakeholders to play an active part in making change happen for Social Enterprise in the North East.
“It has been developed by and with the Social Enterprise sector in the North East, shaped and guided by a partnership of Social Enterprise providers and representative organisations. Their insight, expertise and energy have been the driving force behind this work and I am very grateful for the commitment they have made to developing and delivering this Framework on behalf of the region.”
Business & Enterprise North East will support the regional Framework partnership to develop action plans to take forward each of the seven priorities across 2010/11.
