Business Link strengthens its commitment to social enterprises
Business Link is set to imporve the level of support available to social enterprises in the North East with the appointment of Richard Falconer who will take up the new role of Regional Sector Broker for Social Enteprise.
Richard's new role will involve working with established and new social enterprises that have a potential for high-growth to strengthen the support already provided by Business Link advisors.
More specifically, Richard will provide support, advice and brokerage services to organisations within the sector with the aim of helping social enterprises to identify public sector contract opportunities, adhere to tender requirements and attract business from outside the North East by assisting the formation of strategic alliances with private sector organisations to enable collaborative bidding. Richard will also work with companies to identify innovative finance routes such loan or equity investment.
The appointment of Richard will compliment Business Link's other support services such as the ongoing Built to Achieve workshops aimed at equipping third sector organisations in the North East (including social enterprises, voluntary/community groups, charities, co-operatives and CIC's) with the skills to help their organisation grow and prosper.
