Applications for youth award
The North East Equalities Coalition is looking for youth groups to apply for the Truth About Youth ‘Positive Youth Social Behaviour Award’.
Applications for the ‘PoSBO’ award, which celebrates young people who are tackling diversity issues, close on Thursday 1 December.
There will be one winning group and two runners-up, and any groups that apply will also be invited to take part in a series of fun workshops together, facilitated by Open Clasp Theatre Company.
The winning group will be invited to receive their awards at the Regional Youth Work Unit's Awards Event on 15th December at the Centre for Life and will also receive a small grant to help fund their activities.
In order to be eligible for the award the youth group must have developed a project or an idea that challenges inequality or celebrates diversity, be aged between 11- 25, live in the North East, and be nominated by somebody who knows them.
The shortlisted groups with be announced on Monday 5 December.
