North East Social Enterprise Partnership (NESEP)
Committed to our members and the growth of Social Enterprise
Who are NESEP? What do we do?
North East Social Enterprise Partnership (NESEP) is THE voice for Social Enterprise in the North East. We not only offer expert practical advice but champion Social Enterprise for the region at a regional, national and international level as well. We work with the Social Enterprise Coalition (SEC), the Voluntary Sector and all relevant Government Agencies.
We offer :
- Useful information and introductions. We'll introduce you to the people you need to know
- Access to loan funding and finance tailored to social enterprise(s)
- Access to a wide range of network contacts, contracts and potential commissions
- Help with skills training - particularly procurement
- Advice on Social Franchising - including identifying new business opportunities - from both the franchisor and franchisee point of view. See Inspire details below.
- Strength in numbers. NESEP is recognised as the strategic voice for the region with real social enterprise expertise and experience. We lobby Government on behalf of social enterprise and all our members
- Most effective regional partnership - recognised by The national EQUAL programme (Social Enterprise Partnership)
NESEP has achieved a lot since 2003 but wants to do more. Membership has increased to 150 and is continuing to grow. We aim to double this by the end of 2008. NESEP is also home to Inspire programme.
Inspire carries out Research and Development to identify new business opportunities for social enterprises and existing successful enterprises. It then uses these models for what it calls Social Franchising. This involves creating a new company to establish and support replication of the existing "franchise" business, as you would with a commercial franchise like Prontaprint. The social difference, however, is that the franchise company is owned by the companies it sets up.
